Relax with Purpose by Brian CalifanoSummer is a great time for entrepreneurs to optimize their mind, body, and soul. Finding the right mix of activities and habits will ensure you make the most of this season.

Here are some tips that I’ve gathered over the years through speaking to other entrepreneurs and experimenting in my own life. Give these a try:

      1. Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Over time, I’ve studied a number of different ways to relax my mind and control my emotional well-being. An excellent program that I went through, and still practice, is Positive Intelligence (PQ). There are a number of techniques using touch, breathing, and meditation that have helped me to stay focused and optimistic when circumstances historically would have forced me to do otherwise.
      2. Time Blocking: I try to change my work hours to reflect the change in circadian rhythms and to offer flexible meeting times for my client. For example, I begin early at approximately 5am so that I can enjoy more of an afternoon either playing pickleball or going to the beach with my family.
      3. Maintaining Physical Well-being: For many years, I’ve treated the summer as a way to stretch my capacity to consume foods that I love, such as pizza and ice cream. But with mindful scheduling of recurring physical activity, I make sure that I have a regular routine that helps me stay sharp and reminds me that a sound body complements a strong mind.
      4. Chart Goals and Milestones: I know that charting goals may appear to contradict the concept of relaxation; but, when you have goals in mind it’s easy to celebrate small victories, such as maintaining your weight or working towards a five-minute mile. The important thing is to stay motivated and upbeat so that you feel like you’re moving towards a more positive YOU.

Relaxation isn’t just possible; it’s a proven way to boost creativity, prevent burnout, and return to your business with renewed energy. By intentionally relaxing and scheduling time to be healthier and achieve mini-victories, you will ensure a very productive summer.
